The first steps of your CRM journey can be daunting.  Here's one key piece of advice from Opsis:

Put your business before the technology.

CRM - customer relationship management - means different things to different people.  There are hundreds if not thousands of different CRM 'solutions' available - unless you have some idea what you want, there's no way you can choose the right one for you and your organisation.  Scoping your CRM requirement is a vital first step.

Questions you might want to ask include:

  • Why do we want a CRM solution?
  • What problems are we hoping to solve?
  • How will we know our CRM implementation is successful?
  • Who will use the CRM system?  How many people? What departments or job roles?
  • Will all the users want the same thing from the CRM, or will different people use it differently?
