starting out with Dynamics 365Starting out with Microsoft Dynamics 365

The first steps of your Microsoft Dynamics 365 journey can be daunting.  Here's one key piece of advice:

Put your business before the technology BUT play to the strengths of your technology.

CRM - customer relationship management - means different things to different people.  There are hundreds, if not thousands, of different CRM 'solutions' available - so, unless you have some idea of what you want, there's no way you can create the right solution for you and your organisation.  Scoping your project requirements is a vital first step.

Questions you may want to ask include:

  • Why do we want a CRM solution?
  • What problems are we hoping to solve?
  • How will we know our implementation is successful?
  • Who will use the system?  How many people? What departments or job roles?
  • Will all users want the same thing from the solution, or will different people use it differently?

If you are ready to commit to a Microsoft Dynamics 365 project

start with a Scoping Workshop which will enable you to answer these questions and more, then you know what is important in your Microsoft Dynamics 365 project.

Resolving Dynamics 365 CRM Issues

Stepping stones to get to the other side of CRM issuesResolving CRM challenges with Microsoft Dynamics 365

Study after study show that 30 to 80% of CRM projects fail to deliver as expected - so if you have issues with your CRM, you're not alone!

The good news is, most problem projects can be rescued.  Opsis are experts at giving you the stepping stones to get your Microsoft Dynamics 365 back on track.

Why do CRM projects fail to deliver as expected?

One of the biggest causes of problems with CRM solutions occurs when the original solution focussed too heavily on the user input of information, and not enough on the use of that information.

Another cause of problems is when one team of users had all the say in the implemention, and so other teams, with different needs, now cannot be accommodated easily.

Many of our clients originally implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 without expert assistance.  Others have lost faith in their original implementation partner, or maybe the original implementation partner no longer exists, or has lost their Microsoft Dynamics 365 people.

In most cases, Microsoft Dynamics 365 is 'limping along' - some of it works, but the organisation is not getting the value it expected. For example:

  • Your team don't understand how to use your Microsoft Dynamics 365 and what the data in it means.
  • Users don't follow standard processes, so Microsoft Dynamics 365 information is inconsistent and confusing.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 reports don't give the information managers and decision makers need.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 doesn't work effectively for sales teams and others out on the road.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 data doesn't integrate with other business systems
  • Users simply don't like and don't use your Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Sometimes experts were used, but these experts were so keen to please the people to whom they were talking, that they agreed to everything, without explaining the potential risks of taking such an action.

Next steps to resolve your Microsoft Dynamics 365 challenges

The first step in resolving Microsoft Dynamics 365 issues is to understand the key pain points for your business.
If you know your Microsoft Dynamics 365 pain points already, a Scoping Workshop is a good place to start.
