Overview Demo of Sales Functionality in Microsoft Dynamics 365

Gill Walker ran an online overview demo of Dynamics 365 for clients of CTO training in Queensland.  This demo focussed on the sales functionality of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and highlighted how this out-of-the-box functionality meets 80% (or more) of most organisations' needs - if it is used correctly.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 comes with a sales process that will meet most organistions needs.  This sales process has a product catalogue which, again when set up correctly, will support most organisations.  I have set this up for companies who sell products, companies who require recurring orders or invoices because they bill for rental monthly (or weekly or quarterly) and for organisations whom are more service focussed.  Download your free copy of my ebook about setting up the product catalogue here

The standard sales process also enables you to keep track of all the interactions between between all of your team members and all of the team members of your client or prospect.  These communications are kept in a well structured way, so that they can readily accessed by anyone who requires them.  However, the security model of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is so robust that people who should not access them, cannot access them.

Another aspect of the sales process that is less well lnown is how it can interface with your ERP or accounts system.  The flexibility of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is such you can choose to interface with your ERP or accounts system in three ways - see below

interface erp

Depending on how you choose to work, the interface can be at the quote, the order (or sales order) or the invoice.  Additionally the interface can be one way or two way.
